Thnk Void was created by Jonny B Wright in 2016. Wright has been a musical artist for more than 15 years, starting out in the midwest with guitar and singing, and in recent years honing his production chops and nerding out on synthesizers and the culture of sampling. He's made music on broadway and on street corners, in bars and at weddings. He played in a cover band that converted classic rock songs into Sublime-esque SoCal Beach Dubs. Now, he's releasing his own unique blend of Dark Downtempo Lofi Beat music on Spotify and Apple music."THNK VOID is a project created by LA-based producer Jonny B. Wright. Originally from Michigan, Wright moved to New York City in 2006 to explore being a musician and vocalist on Broadway. In 2010 he decided to move to LA in order to focus on producing music. When talking about why he started creating music, Wright says that he wanted to “have a place to explore the sound that would ease my unconscious/subconscious—a place to catch a vibe—a place to survive, honestly haha.”THNK VOID takes inspiration from a wide range of musicians. Wright’s live show is a great example of this. When he DJs he spins a variety of 70s soul and psychedelic rock records with samples of more modern artists mixed in. It’s one of the reasons why it’s so hard to fit THNK VOID into a specific genre. “Of course I’ve dabbled into making it more this or more that genre,” admits Wright. “But music just creates itself. I’m FINALLY realizing this and just getting out of the way as much as possible.”Listen to THNK VOID’s LoFi mini-mix below and look out for more genre bending sounds from this man soon." - The New LoFi
