Rigo Pex, better known as Meneo is a musicologist and performer born in Guatemala and living in Madrid.At the age of 18 he starts studying musicology and organizing soirées of contemporary art. He co-creates Tripnótica, the first electronic music collective in his country. When he was 21 he won the most important prize in the young category for his project Democracia Sonora: a sample of voices captured in the city and remixed by the local djs.Five years later, he co-founds a gallery-café under the name of SUAE. It was special for being a platform for a whole generation of creators. He organizes the first Festival Centroamericano de Instalación Habitart and he deeply gets into the mixing of genres through bands like Pealcubo y Chichikúa.He travels to Barcelona and is there where he co-founds “microBCN”, a collective that generates music through Game Boys, videogames and old computers.In 2008 he releases his first EP with the English record label Fluid Ounce Records. In 2009 comes out his debut album titled “Santa Nalga” with the independent record label Dress for Excess. In this album he combines tropical rythms that come from the latinoamerican folklore with synthesizers and vocoders.
