I more than just love music, I’m obsessed with it - loving music led me to become a DJ at age 12. Growing up extremely poor, I
scavenged bits and pieces of gear to assemble a rag-tag DJ system, eventually playing backyard parties alongside Sublime and
Snoop Dogg. Growing up in the LBC while attending Poly High, I was surrounded with tons of talented artists, athletes and
academics. I, on the other hand, was more focused on building my DJ rig which eventually grew to epic proportions. At age 19 I
led the charge to open Toe Jam, a crazy all-ages venue catering to punk rock, hip-hop, ska and goth genres. It was common to
visit Toe Jam and see Snoop Dogg, Sublime, The Offspring, No Doubt, Warren G and many more. It was a cultural epicenter with
what would go onto be some of the world’s most influential artists of modern music. It was awesome to be a part of it, if even on
the backside.
My musical influences span a wide range of artists and styles. Growing up I loved 1980’s electro, freestyle, punk and new wave
such as The Egyptian Lover, Debbie Deb, Cybotron, Fear, Dead Kennedys, The Smiths, Fishbone, Depeche Mode, Oingo Boingo
and others. I fell in love with music again through Las Vegas and EDM. It has such a profound effect on me that I said to myself,
"I love this, I love Las Vegas and I have to be a part of this!" It brings so much happiness and joy to my core being. To keep
myself sane, you can find me taking hardcore yoga/cardio/weight classes a few times a weeks at CPY.
