CERRONE, A TRUE SUCCESS STORY
Musician, composer, producer and concert-event conceptor,
Cerrone has been a successful multi-talented artist worldwide for more than 30 years.
Throughout decades Cerrone's particular music brand has left its footprint over a number of
generations.
His legendary stage performances and musical savoir-faire have shown Cerrone to be an authentic
event creator too.
Cerrone is one of the originators of Dance Music and a major producer for dancefloors. He is one of
the French artists who best helped spreading French music' aura all over the world, especially in the
US. He is the reference for the "FrenchTouch".
Today, Cerrone has sold more than 30 millions copies worldwide, produced more than twenty albums,
received dozens of US awards, five Billboard awards, one "Best Producer of the Year" Golden Globe,
three Gold Medals of the SACEM (French authors Society)… he also gathered over hundred thousand
people through his concerts all over the world...
In 2006, the French Minister of Culture made him Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. And in
2007, the Celebrate! LP was certified First Gold Mobile album by French recording industry
Association SNEP, selling over 100,000 SD cards through a partnership with Samsung.
Inevitable are Cerrone's colour, musical atmosphere and 'drum feel' which have influenced current

Respected by all musical styles today, Cerrone's stage performances are played on the international
arena. Counting amongst the highest of international French Musicians since 1976, his pioneering

2009 - March: release of Cerrone by Jamie Lewis, new mixed LP celebrating the 6 years of
collaboration with famous Swiss dj and producer Jamie Lewis.
"Cerrone for free operation": he is the first main French Artist to offer entirely, legally and for
free his last album during one week in the Internet: as a result more than 50 000 legal downloadings
… Once again he shows his innovative and up-to-date position in the Music Industry Changes.
Clan Campbell ( famous French Whisky Brand) : Cerrone designs and becomes new
ambassador ( after Paco Rabanne last year) for the year 2009/2010.
MILK movie: "Love in C minor" is included in the new Gus Van Sant movie OST.
GTA4: the most famous and most saled video game in the world includes 2 tracks from
Cerrone Catalogue.
2008 - July: Release of Love Ritual LP, a glamorous selection of his lounge and sexiest tracks.
July: Celebration of the 40 years anniversary of legendary Hotel in St Tropez "Byblos".
Disco movie: the new Fabien Onteniente movie includes 3 tracks from Cerrone's Catalogue,
and is a huge focus on the Disco movement in France (more than 3 millions tickets).
2007 - Cerrone he is coming back at the top of the dance floor with a brand new album

He celebrates twice, in February and in September with Samsung, the success of his last LP,
Celebrate! Tremendous success with 2 lives in the mythic Olympia, changing this mythic venue in a
giant dancefloor for one night.
2006 - May – Closing ceremony of the Cannes film festival Palm Beach: More than 4500 people
were there.
June - 20 years Dolce & Gabbana Milano: 2500 people, 1500 had to wait outside…
July – Independence party of Alger: 4500 were there.
2006 - February Cerrone, disco icon is a sound creator above all…
With "Clockwork Orange," the musical adaptation for Anthony BURGESS's master piece, he
provokes, makes fun, positions himself where nobody was waiting for him, with an almost Germanic
electro sound where violin and chorus disappeared and left place to acid beats and heavy rhythms.
The result is fundamentally atypical. Totally modern.
July 1, 2005 - Cerrone exceeds once again and creates the event: CERRONE DANCE PARTY, live
@ Versailles, which ignites all the «Place d' Arme" in front of more than 100 000 spectators for an
unforgettable concert. Surrounded by its musicians of talent, Cerrone electrifies the Castle of
Versailles. Its music delights, transports and conquers the spectators.
December 2004 - France, in the name of its Minister of Culture awards Cerrone with the distinction of
"Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres" for the artist's contribution to the radiance of French
culture, both for his country and the rest of the world.
January 2003 – Hysteria Party – Olympia de Paris
Cerrone conceives Paris' very own mythical theatre into the city's largest discothèque! By removing
the seating area, a dance floor was home to three thousand spectators who danced until dawn.
An evening to remember... where media repercussions still resound...
2000 – The Los Angeles Millennium Celebration, Hollywood.
At the turn of the new millennium and at Mayor Riordan's request, Los Angeles witnessed the magic
of world-renowned artist and event impresario, Cerrone, as he brought his own unique and
enchanting sense of spectacle to the foot of the Hollywood hills. « Tomorrow is Here » drew
spectators by the thousands. World renowned stars of Dance and World music were featured under a
spectacular laser light show and dazzling special effects.
1996 – Human Nature becomes Planete Opera, concert/event dedicated to non-violence, held in
honor of meeting his Saintliness the Dalaï Lama. The stage, held along Nice's Riviera on an
anchored platform facing the "Promenade des Anglais" creates a veritable smash. Accompanied by
Cerrone's House influenced sound is opera diva Monserrat Caballe, who is to perform the opening
act before an audience of over 250 000 people.
1994 – Being strongly attached to Buddhist philosophy, Cerrone meets with the Dalaï Lama who in
turn entrusts him with a parchment dedicated to non-violence and love, which he puts to music,
creating the album Human Nature.
1992 – « Dreamtime », Cerrone's musical opera was put on at New York's Ed Sullivan Theatre on
Broadway, where it ran for ten months straight.
1991 – The French star was entrusted with the task of laying on the show « Harmony » to celebrate
the launch of Japan's first High-Definition TV satellite. The rock opera was therein presented to over
800,000 spectators at the Tokyo harbour.
This event recorded such success that Broadway asks the artist to adapt Harmony for theatre.
1990 – Cerrone co-produces the feature film Dancing Machine which boast a screen adaptation
featuring Alain Delon and Patrick Dupont.
1989 – Cerrone followed tip with his Human Rights commemoration show "Evolution", celebrating the
French bi-centennial, taking over a three-mile stretch along the banks of the Seine for the occasion,
before an audience of 600 000.
1988 – Jack Lang, Minister of Culture entrusts the artist to produce a mystical rock opera. « The
Collector » is born and would so impress the powers-that-be that Cerrone is given permission to
stage it on the huge outdoor esplanade of Paris' Trocadéro all the way to the foot of the Eiffel tower
before an audience of 120 000. On stage for this great event were soprano Mary Hopkins, Geoff
Down of the group Asia, musicians from the Art of Noise outfit and Earth, Wind and Fire and the Paris
Opera Choir. The concert was acquired and broadcast by some 40 TV companies around the world.
1984/1985/1986/1987 - Cerrone produces his 10th album « Where are you now » and publish his
second novel « The Rat » at Carriere edition. But he also produces other artists like: Toto, Col.
Abrams, Latoya Jackson.In 1984, he gets his second honour medals from SACEM.
1980/1981/1982/ 1983 – He takes advantage of the effervescence of musical business in the eighties
to produce three albums: Cerrone VII – You are the one, Cerrone VIII – Back Track, Cerrone IX –
Your love survived.
He gives concerts all around the globe: Japan, England, Germany, Italy etc…
He uses his free time to write his first novel, « Névrose » published at Fayard editions, which will be
sold at 80 000 copies.

1979 – Cerrone releases his 5th album Angelina, realized with TOTO's group members. The acoustic
of the album gets rock influences. The same year, he receives two prestigious awards from the
golden globe ceremony: best producer of the year and best composer of the year.
October 1978 - Release of Cerrone IV - the Golden Touch, Gold Record as soon as he was released
in United-States.
To celebrate the release of his new album, journalists from Europe and United-States were inveited to
a big showcase at studio 54.
December 2nd and 3rd 1978, Cerrone create a show in front of 12 000 people every night under a
Plexiglas pyramid of 16 meters large and 12 meter high. It's the beginning of big event concerts.
February 1978 - release of the Supernature album, which will be sold at 8 millions copies! He gets 5
awards from the Billboard Awards ceremony: best male artiste of the year, best composer of the year,
best instrumentalist of the year, best arranger of the year and best producer of the year.
1977 - Official release of Love in C Minor in the United States with Atlantic Records. The track is a big
success and takes the first place in US disco and R&B charts. The album will be sold at 3 million
copies. Disco is born!
At one and the same time, Cerrone compose his second album Cerrone's Paradise. He receives his
first's awards in the U.S t: Excellence price for young artist and best producer of the year.
1976 - Cerrone produces by himself his first album Love in C Minor. After he was refused by
principals majors, he doesn't' loose hope and press 5000 copies in England which he will distribute
himself in Paris. By mistake, a box of vinyl left in a Paris shop is sent to the U.S and discovered by a
Dj. He will start to play Cerrone's music in New-York clubs. It is an immediate success; the track will
become an enormous hit in clubs. Cerrone is in France and he doesn't know about it, but he will
discover after that his Song is a big success in the U.S. He will leave France to the U.S to claim his
rights, and will be signed by Atlantic Records
