Soma welcome back Gary Beck with this being his first full EP on the label after appearing originally on the Somabeta sublabel back in January. Gary is currently whipping up quite a storm on the global house and techno circuit with his releases on Perc Trax, Mezzotinto, Darkroom Dubs, Edit Select and Minus getting under the nails of even the most discerning of DJs and smacking a punch on floors worldwide. Starting off the EP is Tijuana, a beautifully-crafted slice of jazz-tinged tech-house. With its shuffling groove, mesmerising pads and lazy clarinet, this is a surefire track to get the booties shaking and the ladies screaming for more. Gary’s work always delivers a unique elegance that sets the floors ablaze during his live sets, and Tijuana is a perfect example of this. Semillon then takes us down the darker side of Gary’s productions. A menacing work that preys on you, ambushing your senses and toying with your mind, this is an intense workout. The track builds in a crescendo of glitches and percussion with no let-up along the way. This is going to make you freak.
