Audiofly's Supernature welcome another new artist into their roster with the Joie release from Canadian Sean Miller, backed with a remix from the legendary Bushwacka!. Miller is by no means a newcomer to house music, having developed an unshakable reputation as one of Canada and North Americas strongest DJs over the past ten years, but its recent output for the likes of VIVa and Saved which is breaking new ground for the artist. Having learnt his trade as one of the go-to warm up DJs in North America, Miller's ear is attuned to creating gripping grooves and this quality is more than apparent in Joie and its counterpart, Got Me. Joie employs noisy hats, padding kicks and vocal drops to create energy and groove and with shuffling percussion and relentless bass is the sort of solid gold floorfiller that has attacted Steve Lawler, Lee Burridge and Audiofly themselves to Seans music. In its remixed form, Joie is taken down a significantly druggier route by the consistently brilliant Bushwacka!. From the loose shaker down to the incredibly subtle kick, this mix is one of the veteran producers finest and sees him create the sort of melody/percussion interplay which make his sound unmistakable. Got Me finishes the release with an incredibly funky bassline snaking around under swinging drums and vocal smatterings which, despite its small number of parts, is incredibly high impact.
