Taking cues from the disgraced namesake institution of Staten Island, NY; Willowbrook first walks you back over the desolate, derelict and abandoned grounds of a facility that merely whispers and echoes the abhorrent atrocities that were inflicted within its walls... Coursing with a sonic jaundice like the hepatitis rife throughout its patients, the inflammation swells and the malaise sets in - the battered turns to bruised, the bruised turns to broken, the perturbation develops and the panic becomes delirium. You force open the door to building number six to face the scorched and savaged destruction of the human form, the mental instability further desecrated by the wanton disregard for social values. Welcome to 'The Snake Pit'. Further propelled by a torrent of eviscerating frequencies you are coerced into a a false sense of hope and security, only to be confronted with the reality of your own phthisistic decay. Yearning for the lift, you are pummelled to the point of dismay, your body violated and your senses distorted. The only hope lies in that cathartic release of the end - the raw closing moments, the end to the torment, the end to the detest and the loathing writhing through your now depraved mind. Your last fleeting thoughts... How did you arrive here? Were you ever free....? This 12 track 'Willowbrook' album focuses on instrumental, stripped back versions sitting heavy in the mix, drenched with feedback and sinister undertones, raw emotion and eloquent expressions of pain. This will put you in a sombre mood for sure. An album of brutal realism, intense and claustrophobic - it's as dark as the subject matter. One foot planted firmly in the noise genre, the other planted firmly in your face!...
