Release 13 sees the return of the label founder Superlifter. This time he has teamed up with fantastic UK based vocalist Isobel Mai. Isobel brings a haunting and insistent quality to her performance and her song writing and this is in abundance in this EP release. The title track No Way Out couples Isobel's vocal with a dark and industrial bass rhythm, rolling percussion and subtle synths and peaks with a brief, reverb drenched breakdown before allowing Isobel's vocal to take centre stage leading to the percussion led crescendo. This is a darkly euphoric and insistent track and one we feel is unique in showcasing both artists talents. The Extended Warehouse Dub takes the instrumentation of the original and dubbed vocal cuts to create a huge late night techno track, a dub of the original is also provided. Tell Me has a different feel altogether; this time Isobel provides a more hopeful and serene vocal which is backed by an insistent drum groove and beautiful ambient electronic synths. A dub is also included. Once again on Superlifter a debut vocalist has raised the bar in what we feel is an exceptionally strong and timeless release.
