Station 17 - a strange project. Traditional listing habits are cross brushed. Confidential wave winding sounds are roughed up with shrill and abrupt sounds, with inning and uninning joke. (Georg Schnitzler, spokesperson of Ev. Stiftung Alsterdorf; 28/11/1990) | For me the main thing with Station 17 is not that much the cooperation with handicapped people, but rather the awareness, that in every human being is creative potential and that with little help wonderful things can be extracted. Handicapped people are just as normal or abnormal as other people - sometimes they might have fewer emotional blockings, are more open-minded but more violative. Very intensive, very honest contacts can arise if you show yourself just as open minded. For most the work was the first creative creation. More important than the result was the way how to come up with the conclusion. I think that we musicians and producers used the appropriate sensitiveness and the necessary reserve when working with this LP and that all titles kept their character, that the performers intended them to have. This record ought to inspire and to stimulate as many people as possile to open their eyes and ears... (Stefan Walter, musician and producer; 22/11/1990) |
