The Parallel returns to Nice & Nasty with an unholy trinity of the worlds freshest artists on remix duty with an EP titled 'Remixed' that has true international flavour as Dublin, Detroit, Glasgow, Stockholm and Cologne arew represented. Sierra Leone first appeared on the Modulation EP (NANO88) gets remixed by Glasgow's Solab and Stockholm's DJ Mourad whilst Soul Brother from the album 15 (NANO45) gets treated by Koln's Nachklanmusik. Other releases on N&N by The Parallel include Sleepwalker EP and Sleepwalker remixes. The Parallel records for Nice & Nasty, Komisch, Static and Science labels and recently been on remix duty himself transforming the music of Marco Bernardi (Octogen), Itokim, Mick Chillage and more, fine tuning his talents and building his reputation as Dublin's leading light in techno. The Parallel follows in the footsetps of Chymera, Donnacha Costello and Phil Kieran and alongside Jamie Behan, Rob Glennon and Ed Devane represents the next exciting wave of Irish techno talent. Dublin and Ireland remains undefined in terms of its' own sound; however, The Parallel's mix of 303s, 4/4 beats, funk, soul and emotion truly reflects the eclectic millieu that is Ireland and captures the many influences on the sounds. The Parallel fuses Acid house, Classic Detroit techno soul and straight up, full on techno. Inspired by Surgeon, Simms, Hawtin, Hardfloor, Carl Craig, Sunaderson, Atkins, May and Irish heroes like Eamonn Doyle, DJ Francois and Sunil Sharpe, Colin McKeown aka The Parallel is peerless at home and unparalledl, unrivalled abroad. Colin is a producer of few words, prefering to let his music do the communicating. Fans and followers of his music will appreciate this, however, the subtle melody and deep emotive vibes and banging beats have been transformed by Solab, DJ Mourad and Nachklangmusik. The following may be biased and loaded but there really isnt much better techno being made by anyone, anywhere at the moment. Listen and I am sure you will agree.
