'Nocturing' is the second release by Escandalo and for this project they set out to make a ritualistic march of sorts with reggaton and 90s runway house showing up as strong influences in this downbeat track. They let the powerful intensity of this slowed down version of club music speak for itself and gathered trusted New York house remixers to create a strong remix project of uptempo club tracks.
Escandalo is NYC based electronic band with influences ranging from Carribbean to Freestyle to Goth. Members Desi Santiago (aka Desi Monster) and Viva Ruiz are both fixtures in the downtown club and performance art world. Viva also is a vocalist for The Crystal Ark on DFA. Escandalo is produced by Automagic (Bryan Wright & DJ Will Automagic) who have their own history and reputation with releases and remixes on labels ranging from Buzzin Fly to King Street. They have also produced other artists such as The Ones and NDea Davenport.
Rooted in NYC club culture, Escandalo culled local talent to round out the remix project. Remixes by House of Stank, Best Mate, Austin Downey, Jung & Palmer, Sir Jemma, Al B & Garito, Max Tannone, and DJ Nita are included, as well as a brand new Bonus Remix of 'La Bruja', Escandalos first single, by Johnny Dynell. This is a true NYC project as all of these producers and DJs and artists play and collaborate together as a part of NYCs current nightlife renaissance.
