For our next release, we have teamed up with AFS to bring back his Mothers' Day Part 2 tune which we released as part of the Mothers' Day EP around the same time last year. This time we present two brand new remixes from Blue Pencil and Reformed Society.
The original is an ambient affair with acoustic guitar and floating pads. It focuses on a sample of an unknown man discovered on a tape at a garage sale in Winnipeg, Canada, apologising to his children after telling them off for not sending their mother anything for Mother's Day.
Blue Pencil provides a deep mid tempo 4/4 version keeping most of the samples from the original intact. Instead of messing with the original samples, new drums, brassy synth stabs and a groovy bass line have been added to give it some dance floor appeal; Clocking in at 101 bpm, this mix will probably be best for warm ups, after hours and perfect for the outdoor summer parties.
Reformed Society pushes the energy up a notch with a 123 bpm experimental breaks/tech house groove. Original samples have been chopped up and rearranged with dark synth stabs creating a new groove in the process. Very much made for the dance floor; guitars still give it a nice summery feel.
Hope you like the new remixes :)
