First up is the Shrinkwrap mix of the title track by Mark Rayner and Matt Horobin. These fellas are 'old skool' Balearic champions from Nottingham with exceptional taste. Their delicate, pointillist production values have taken the tune to another level; it twists, teases and tantalises as fractured, multi layered vocals ebb and flow. Gorgeous. Let it wash over you.
'Breeze' is a woozy instrumental piece with abstract strings and an 808 in a right old state. Brittle shades of Erik Satie too. It sounds like the perfect poolside party that exists only in your warped imagination. Feel that warm breeze on your face? We can.
Track three is entitled 'Stuck' and has a low slung, psychedelic groove that's surely gonna throb forever. As it drags itself in and out of focus and scatters sensations down the rabbit hole it'll take you with it. Try and follow the propulsive narrative; it makes all sort of sense of sorts.
IPG's Sunday Haze Version of 'Drift' closes the show, so cuddle up close to this baby. Featuring reflective, aching vocals from DJ Emma (yes, her from DIY) and long-time IPG collaborator Katty Heath alongside Leicester's own sax symbol Gaz Birtles, this song invites you back after the party and lends you a jumper; you know what I mean.
Written and produced by Martyn Watson and Ric Peet with a little help from our friends.
