Crossing an invisible bridge between London garage-flavoured house and brazilian electro-jazz, Stéphane Vera has created his own genre of music based on his artist name, 'Teknostep'. As a prolific producer and session player his new album is bursting at the seams with boundless energy and bright ideas. The music is full of complex syncopated rhythms, virtuosic keyboard work and truly exciting spacefunk.
The 16 track release, entitled 'Different Shapes + Sizes (Square the Circle)' features a number of banging collaborations with world artists like Japan's idm powerhouse COPPE', Canada's r&b diva IVANA SANTILLI, jazz great LAILA BIALI, plus 2 bonus remixes from UK's SI BEGG and Germany's NOAH PRED.
Stéphane might be a musical genius, but he's a modest one whose pioneering work has made significant contributions to the expansive world of future music and sound science. His intelligent insight and years of experience in musical experimentation and production could fill pages, not posts.
Highlights of his experimental activities include: being lead composer at computational music company waveDNA, creating ringtones and music for Microsoft, and collaborating with Ryerson University to score music for the Emoti-chair, a device that enables the deaf to experience music.
Stéphane has also collaborated on recordings with the likes of ill.Gates, Peter Primiani (83 West), Roy Davis Jr., Tricky Moreira, Sean Roman (Mutt), Mario J (AD/D), Masia One, Bedouin Soundclash, and DJ Romain. His sound is that of a future electronic music that you can't quite put your finger on, like afro-funk with a glitchy beat that's bubbling up inside effervescent house.

Also, Noah Pred's mix is nothing I expected...in a good way!
