The original mix leads the release off and features more of what we've come to expect from John and T.Pals; deep funk-laden grooves that are perfect for the dance floor. It's well carved foundation and hook heavy rhythms make for an infectious beginning which lays the groundwork for T.Pals silky smooth vocals. Soulful lines, bubbly textures and a catchy band of drums make for a smooth but energetic ride throughout. Perfect for the club or the beach it goes down as the best work of John and T.Pals respective careers. T.Pals has also included a Radio Edit which sits comfortably as a great complement to the original and has already been licensed for an upcoming television commercial.
The lone interpretation of 'Candy Lips' is provided by Roni Iron who is making his first appearance on Movement Recordings. Hailing from Athens Roni has several notable achievements; as a DJ he has shared the decks with Deep Dish, Cristian Varela, Marco Bailey and Chaim while on the production front he has several hits with 'Eyes of the Sea' from 2011 being perhaps his crowning achievement. Roni's deep and enchanting sound has melded well with the strong 'Candy Lips' parts. Opting for a much more underground approach Roni's dubby, tripped out take on the track proves to be the perfect companion alongside the original. A melancholic main break is one of many highlights along with a hypnotic third act which is going to go down great on those clued up dance floors. It rounds out a uniquely special release for Movement Recordings in fine style.
