The appeal for better days has rarely made more sense, we're suffering from a deep devaluation of love... a lack of it's unitary power that has become unbearable, reveals that a deeper link is missing in mainstream culture. It's cold, bland and technologically dependent reality needs an urgent revolution. Black Tulip, a project created by veteran Joseph Salvador in the early 90's, has always been about love, unity and having fun - no better project than this to shout out loud love is what we need, in better days to come. Better Days features the uncanny contribution of legendary Salsoul vocalist Wendell Morrison and comes with four takes: the Portland Dub (produced by Joseph and Kaspar, it's a tense, thick and emotional mid tempo groove, an afro vibed boogie floor funk take. The Social Disco Club remix is an ecstasy lead house cut, sharp sounding and boasting an amazingly progressive arrangement, where acid lines give way to ravey deep chords and heavy vocal discharges. The Setsuo Morikawa remix, purest and rawest Strictly Rhythm style dub, unforgiving sampled beats with hard piano stabs, deep sub bass and classically placed vocal cuts, one for the after hours. Isac Ace remix is a rootsy take, complete with live funk guitars and bassline, sharp hissing DMX beats, and dramatic synth lines ... just like what you would expect from a classic Prelude / West End release. The 1990's original take was cut at the infamous Portland Sound Studio in Amsterdam with the original Black Tulip formation, Joseph Salvador, 'Groovemaster' Johnson, Rik Zwaan, Bob Pieck and Wendell Morrison on vocals and only released on a EMI/TINK! Records CD sampler Dance Cuts Vol. 1. A DJ can't ask for a better and well achieved pack of four versions anywhere, there's one for every occasion on here! from the classical disco heads, to the deeper heads, from the sharp NY style house lover to the Paradise Garage lovers.
