SDF-1 is an acronym synonymous with the Melbourne underground techno and electro scene since the early 2000s. In high school he had already deeply immersed himself in synthesiser modulators and a hefty record collection, whilst dragging his friends unaware to see the likes of Tall Paul & The Usual Suspects at weekend raves between exams. As a guy, he's always tinkering with synths, pulling apart electronics, and making exciting visuals and programming creations. As a punter, he's always the one looking for the newest and most unique events, being the first one on the dance floor and last to leave. As a DJ (with an insane record collection of the most eclectic and amazing music) he's always the one to put his hand up to play that 10am set at a warehouse party over a high profile club set. But, as a producer, he's always one to search for the unusual, the unknown, the rare and the experimental. His knowledge of synthesisation, and electronic music are fluid in combination together, and although his work has been a hidden progression of productions behind the scene for many years, the sound of his debut EP is supremely mature and intelligent.
Having featured briefly on our last release in collaboration, SDF-1 has now arrived with 2 different yet already very audibly characteristic tracks. Synth heavy, analogue and intricate, dark and melodic, there are two quality offerings here; one for that hectic time of night on the floor, and something for when things get a little lighter. Join SDF-1 as he attempts to capture time while we hurtle alone through space.
