1. Long awaited rain (original mix) 2. After the rain (original mix)
LONG AWAITED RAIN came as i was setting up the studio, and suddenly a gentle drizzle was reflecting on the water canal i have the pleasure to enjoy right out of my studio. And then the rain. the real one. It was pouring as i was layering synth and drum patterns. It has been so long since i've seen this amount of water coming from the heavens. it was beautiful. A rare syncronicity of natural events, my mood, inspiration, and my machines that strangely helped me into finding almost right away the right sounds in the right places. Living in California rain is not really something that you see everyday, and also an event that people here don't see as a annoying thing, but weather a necessity that we've been missing for quite sometimes. Being raised in Switzerland i've seen plenty of rain, and to me was always more of an obstacle wreather then a beautiful and universally blessed event. And this was the first time in my life where i was so happy to see it coming down as a much needed help from the sky to restore nature. This explains the beautiful and melancholic synth patterns, the wet hit hat that submerges you right away in the mood of the producer witnessing the event. Personally one of my most beautiful and thoughtful pieces so far.
AFTER THE RAIN rides off the very same concept, mood, state of mind. This one has been written the next day, when the rain stopped and nature, birds, me, were sort of awakening refreshed and well rested. ready one more time to stare at the horizon, not blurred this time. it was clean. it was clear. i was able to see far.again.it almost felt like a new start, leaving me contemplating on what my new sonic venture would sound like. and would it sound as good as this one? I hope everyone is gonna enjoy! Peace!! Leon Noliv
