Simon Lee & Alvin present their EP on Unicode Recordings, a culmination of 5 smashing singles showcasing their diversity as they strike the balance between dancefloor energy and out of the club listening.
The Malaysian DJ/producer duo stormed onto the dance music scene in 2007 and have acquired a dedicated fanbase through their original productions, bootlegs, DJ sets, and weekly radio show that is nationally broadcasted.
On this EP, they take us on a journey through an array of styles.
"Lights Loud" is an electro house live set essential with an addictive synth hook, designed to ignite dancefloors.
"Space Chase" is an up-tempo production with a melodic chorus coupled with fast paced percussion.
"Unicode" takes the duo back to their trance roots with a refined and elegant concoction of beautiful melodies and an upbeat vibe.
The title track from the EP, "Slam It" is a powerful anthem designed for festivals. A driving bassline accompanied by heavy kicks and an uplifting trance melody deliver the firepower to ignite a 'hands in the air' moment just before a massive pandemonium at the drop.
And lastly, "Racetime" is a firestarter that has been a secret weapon for the duo's DJ peak time DJ sets.
Collectively, the tracks have received over 100,000 plays online, chart placings on Beatport and iTunes, and radio airplay in USA, UK, Germany, and Malaysia. Many esteemed music sites including Hype Machine have featured the tracks and given it positive reviews. With support from top names including Markus Schulz, Tritonal, JES, MaRLo, Dash Berlin, DJs from Mars, Joachim Garraud, and Gareth Emery, the tracks will surpass fans' expectations.
This EP marks the beginning of their label Unicode Recordings' partnership with Black Hole Distribution.
Look out for more music and shows for this duo in 2016.
