Sir Real follows up the Extender EP, Tronika's debut release, with a 4-tracker that shows him returning even more to his roots, whilst simultaneously exploring new ways to combine his preferred styles of techno, electro, acid and rave.
With an undoubted nod to the energy of classic mid 90's rave, there are also touches of Detroit-style melody to be found throughout this EP. As with the Extender EP, there are electro & techno interpretations of each track, although all four should find a home in the set of any DJ that refuses to be tied down by genre.
Once again, Tronika pushes forward with an EP to challenge the current preconception that techno needs to be dark and foreboding, preferring instead to bring a sound that is optimistic and ? whilst harking back in part to a sound from the past ? is in no way nostalgic. An appropriate stepping stone for the next release, the 'Grounded EP', which sees Sir Real taking this concept and elevating it to an even more refined level.
