Blank Tape is the third album from worriedaboutsatan. The band comprised of Gavin Miller & Thomas Ragsdale was in hibernation for a five year stretch just after the release of their single Heart Monitor back in 2010 but reappeared last year with Even Temper their first album in half a decade. This year shouldve seen them slow down but worriedaboutsatan arent really ones for hanging around. Marking their 10th anniversary year in style the band hit the road back in April and havent stopped since playing everywhere from a packed out Brudenell Social Club in Leeds to shows at Liverpool and Manchester Academies and even opening for Underworld at the inaugural Bluedot festival at Jodrell Bank in Cheshire. Its hard to believe Blank Tape is only the third worriedaboutsatan record but after their other project the more techno focused Ghosting Season ended this year the band decided to concentrate on worriedaboutsatan with no other distractions. The result is a record brimming with ideas: melancholic piano codas drift into pulsing synths processed guitars flicker and evaporate whilst an array of vintage drum machines wax & wane throughout. Vocal contributions come courtesy of Vincent Cavanagh from Liverpudlian prog rock band Anathema on the racing heartfelt This Restless Wing and Bristolian electronica duo FaceHeel on the slow burning Lament.
