Kaz James represents that new breed of global dancefloor superstar. He makes the kind of uplifting, hedonistic house music that doesn't hold its punches, main room anthems with all the world class production quality you'd expect from someone who could spot a peaktime riff at a thousand paces.
Recently signed to a worldwide deal by Sony Music Australia's One Love imprint, 'Kids' is his new single, a brilliant slice of euphoric house and a precursor to James' debut album featuring N.E.R.D and Joachim Garraud.
From the same Melbourne scene that launched Dirty South, James was one half of production outfit, Bodyrockers, whose debut single 'I Like The Way (You Move)' stands as one of the biggest dance records of all time (and a Top 3 hit in the UK). The track led to years spent on the road, touring the world and generally having the time of his young life. Post-Bodyrockers, James collaborated with Macy Gray and Limp Bizkit's DJ Lethal.
After first cutting his DJ teeth in Melbourne, Kaz spent his teens DJing and backpacking around the world. These days you'll find him rocking Cocoon in Frankfurt, Pacha Ibiza and finishing off the weekend at Italy's Angels Of Love. It's the kind of DJ diary that's seen him share the stage with the likes of Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, Pete Tong, Afrojack, Fatboy Slim, Erick Morillo and David Guetta.
With further releases for 2012 planned, Kaz James will be touring the UK, Europe, Australia and America later this year.
