Serene City Records presents 'Orange Yellow LP' by SPD. SPD showcases six sun drenched tracks to see you through the summer.
One for the sunset dancefloor, 'Everyday' kicks off the LP with lush pads, flute stabs, original trombone courtesy of Niall Payne and a subtle bassline underneath. The vocals add to the track without taking over.
Garagey and deep, 877 picks up the speed of the LP with hypnotic vocal chops, a deep rolling bassline, chords, and signature SPD percussion.
'Need you' is the most delicate track on the LP, with melodic percussion, deep pads and RnB style vocal snippets creating a deep sense of nostalgia. The bassline is deep but sparse allowing space for the rest of track to breath. One for the deep heads.
SPD teams up again with Niall Payne for 'Always here'. Elegant keys interweave with the jazzy trombone and crisp drums, before deep and bouncy basslines take it in turn to take the track forward. Acid pads and sharp hi hats provide nice progression and movement to the track.
'Lago di Garda' is a smooth dance floor number with kalimba, jazzy pads and pads taking prominence. Flute snippets and vocal chops and guitars help add to the texture of the track, whilst the bassline runs smoothly underneath the kick. Crackles, fluttering synth lines, effected vocals and African instrumentation build the LP's last track. A subtle tom and 808 bassline then take you through to drop and beyond. Melodic and sparse this is the perfect finishing track to bring you down. The reece bassline in the breakdown is euphoric and is incorporated well into the second drop.
