Serene City Records are proud to present SCR018 and a debut appearance from KAKE with his smasher of an EP titled RECIPE FOR DISASTER. Gassed Bristol badman Kake has supplied us with two absolute bangers coming in the form of that ever popular 4X4/Bassline sound, if you're into your four to the floor skanking to some dirty bassline rollers all whilst pulling a screw face then this EP is definitely for you.
Kicking of the EP is track 1 'Icy Fingers' starting with an atmospheric introduction and a single kick getting this EP started its hard to pin down the direction Kake is going to take us, that is until the masterfully done progression pushes us into that solid four to the floor kick interlaced with tiny elements of bassline that is guaranteed to get your head nodding in anticipation, a subtle yet distinctive riser pushes the track into the drop and trust me it's a nutty one, the bass oh the bass a dirty growling roller of a bass running alongside extremely infectious percussion makes this a beast of a tune.
Track 2 titled 'Jam Doughnut' ends this short and sweet EP in fantastic form. Another four to the floor percussion style adapted alongside some very intricate pads and synth's giving you that warm fuzzy feeling inside, pushing you further with carefully placed risers and percussion progression into another face melter of a drop. The more mid-range base on this one as opposed to Icy Fingers gives this EP a great spectrum of what we like to call 4X4/Bassline and all in all a great EP from man like Kake.
