The last couple of years Norwegian artist, producer, DJ and director Benjamin Finger has been keeping busy being everywhere on tour all the time, and also recording in his Oslo based studio all the time. It seems as though Benjamin's days contain more hours than us ordinary folks, and with each extra hour comes a load of extra creative energy. He has released and recorded several albums that range from lo-fi neo classical piano works to jazzy avant-garde pieces drenched in electronics.
Just before the summer we released his excellent 9,5 EP, for which he received great reviews. Foreign Accents had this to say about him: – Oslo-based netlabel mainstay Benjamin Finger is one of the few electronic musicians around these days definitively worthy of the label of "true original".
We couldn't agree more, and that why we're releasing the EPs older sibling: the LP called 10.
Within the artwork by Benjamin Finger's friend and acclaimed artist Are Mokkelbost you'll find 10 tracks of intricate electronics bursting at the seams.
Benjamin Finger operates in an old school fashion and the magic in his works tend to lay in the in betweens where things are slightly off kilter and barely hold together, but still do. The feel is undoubtedly organic and analogue
Benjamin Finger will continue to tour extensively throughout 2016 – as always, and there are several other releases in the pipeline as well, in addition to other projects and also the writing of his debut novel. The days surely do have more hours for Benjamin Finger.
