'Through the rain' is the debut single from PlayTown's latest signing Ezkimo 6, it also features the vocal talents of Stevie.
Ezkimo 6 is delivering a fresh undertaking of alternative rock.
Melodic, sincere and original.
After spending the past years collaborating and writing with other artists, lead vocalist and writer 'Yan' wanted to branch out and make his own music in his own style.
'working and writing with others is a lot of fun, but i had this music swirling around in my mind that was totally different and i had to let it out. Some artists can write great songs seemingly about anything but my music comes from me, my experiences and my emotions. it can at times be pretty scary putting down something so real, but for me its the only way.'
We asked Yan:
For those that have yet to hear Ezkimo 6, who would you say you sound like?
'Ooh that's a tough question, i hate drawing comparisons between my music and other artists, Ezkimo 6 sounds like Ezkimo 6, its original. What i can say is that iv'e spent many years listening to R.E.M, Nirvana, The Smiths, Smokey Robinson and The Cure to name but a few, so i'm pretty sure those guys have all influenced me. My tastes are pretty eclectic and those varied influences find their way into my own music.'
Where do you hope to see Ezkimo 6 in the future?
'Playing at Glastonbury ( laughs ) , no seriously i promised my Mum that i would and she will be pretty pissed off if i don't.'
Any last comments you would like to make?
'In the words of the Immortal Abba, 'take a chance on me.'
