Daneel Olivaw (voice and words) and Momo Riva (producer and musician) are artists from eclectic musical journey and, from the earliest collaborations, show a strong common interest in electronic music. From raw improvisations are at once the energy and feeling to create the project 'Cinema Metropol', the distillate of a mature and conscious musical taste conscious of it's experimental nature, free from procedural rules, moved by the desire to create images and strongly emotional atmosphere.
'Daneel Olivaw' EP The first hearing is revealing: the tone burgundy fluid and sensual voice at times naive at times of 'femme fatale' mingle without ever merging with metallic rigor of synths and the flashes of a rhythm never granted acids. There is no way to know which is the protagonist of this 'mise en scène', if the voice, so fickle and hard to classify, or musical composition, without rules or management, supported by the one pressing objective of communicating emotion precise, a panorama now tight, dark, rough, now immense, fluid, dazzling. A glossy travel exuberance of the 'Cinema Metropol' melancholy emptiness of 'Et moi qui crevais' passing through the steel strength of 'And On' perseverance and passionate love of 'Gound' or discrete 'Mon idée'. Nothing is left to chance, not even the alternating use of the two languages, French and English.
Cinema Metropol 'Pas de panique'. There is no fear in facing the journey in themselves, the reassuring and hypnotic voice is a winking guide, the synth suggests an oriental atmosphere and suddenly you are drawn into a vortex at the boundary between a boyish round dance and a fall free in sensuality.
Mon Idée The crystalline sweetness of the momentum towards the ideal, the '' Idée ', opens the live chorus towards the immensity of a love that verse in sobs on the syncopated rhythm.
And On Exhausting and monolithic lament that expresses the voice in crying to herself the power of perseverance.
Ground Liquids sounds and atmosphere suspended at the boundary between sensual tension and childlike wonder invite you to close your eyes and get carried lulled by the intimate and reassuring rhythm.
Et Moi Qui Crevais Glossy evasion of any scheme, a shock difficult to classify that sways between the subtle cruelty of the text and the banality of the nursery rhyme.
