L'artiste faisait oublier l'homme
SVEN KAUFMANN without a doubt is one of the most controversial characters of the electronic music scene in West Germany. Eclectic, versatile and intrigued in all directions are all attributes that match Sven Kaufmann. Controversial and confronting might also queue, but no matter how you twist and turn it, the word best describing this young man is: polarizing!
Sven Kaufmann made his mark in the past years as an editorial journalist, columnist but mainly as a DJ and event organizer. His event concepts Monozentrik, Alle in den Bunker!, Alle in den Wald! or Deep Train gained attention all over Germany and currently reside in six different cities.
In 15 years working as a DJ, own productions have never been an issue. Due to his friendships to artists like Vincenzo, Pascal FEOS, Dub Taylor/Tigerskin, Audiojack or Till von Sein, the desire for a personal piece of music grew up and so he finally made his first steps into the studio world. Meanwhile there's a collaboration with DJ and production partner Christian Hinzer (as M.A.O.) out on Galvanic. Now the time has come for his solo debut on the new born Le Cirque Music. His "Laugh Hurts EP" is as eclectic, polarizing and self-ironic as the artist himself, and as artful and multi-faceted as the fresh and ambitious label.
