Tired Music is composed from a personal archive of complex sounds that are stripped of all but their most elemental acoustic character. Like a clouded daguerreotype or a smoothed pebble, the plane surfaces of these sounds speak to something bigger: of being slowly, gently and thoroughly worn away.
An early version of Tired Music was written in January 2013 in Birmingham, UK. It was revised in residency at Tokyo Experimental Festival in November of the same year with Rosa van Hensbergen and ShaLeigh Comerford. A final version was prepared in San Francisco in March 2014 for performances in New York the following month.
