UK based production duo and label of the same name Forward Strategy Group follow up their debut 12" release Transect with another fresh slab of monolithic, bass-heavy techno entitled Applied Generics; now available in digital format to satisfy any that missed the limited vinyl edition. With support from Marcel Heese (Tresor), Samuli Kemppi (Berghain), Peter Van Hoesen, Giorgio Gigli and Grovskopa (Token, Audio Assault), Applied Generics has already raised the roof at clubs worldwide. It's already been featured as part of Ben Sims and Surgeon's Frequency 7 set on Radio1's Mary Anne Hobbes show and also in Surgeon's March 2009 Resident Advisor Podcast. Forward Strategy Group - Applied Generics (FSG) Applied Generics 001 : The first offering is straight up UK techno with a shuffled, re-sequenced edge and delivers a cortex scrambling mess of barbed wire sounds nicely wrapped around a linear beat structure. This is a unique cut with a very distinct sound wavering between Berlin minimalism and grungey UK techno. Applied Generics 002 : Deep rumbling textures, ghostly tones, and spectral, metallic chords lie in wait on the B-side, which takes on a deeper style influenced by Berlin, pitching it somewhere between Basic Channel and Sandwell District.
