After their 2016 Ep 'Looking For Mushrooms' on Dirt Crew Recordings we're proud to present you this follow-up with new and unreleased material by Jazz pianist/composer Henning Grambow and Tigerskin. Once again, the boys deliver three unique, hard-to-categorize pieces from the vast expanses of dance music.
The first track 'Ape Canaveral' sounds like a rollercoaster ride through the jungle of a distant planet with all kinds of nasty monkeys that definitely haven't had breakfast yet. But that doesn't stop our heroes Grambow and Tigerskin from unpacking synths, strings and pianos and playing a space-hymn to the whole clan. One almost forgets that deep down there's a kick drum setting the pace. Crazy.
With 'Challenger' the two unleash a melancholic, multi-layered groove monster. At first, goose bumps are produced for a couple minutes with various percussions and synths, just to finally arrive at a question-answer game between reeds and piano.
The third piece, 'Sputnik', unmistakably follows classic French space disco sound of the early 1980s with Grambow playing a very catchy synth line.
Three outstanding compositions by two masters in their own way.
