Standard Planets have just completed their stunning new collaboration with internationally aclaimed writer and master of Psychogeography Iain Sinclair (Penguin Books/Lights Out For The Territory, Hackney:That Rose Red Empire, London Orbital), with the limited-edition 100 copy vinyl 12" being released worldwide on Feb 26th.
The Guardian have just premiered the tracks and you can listen, read about the project and pre-order through the following link:
Iain Sinclair is a writer, documentarist, film maker, poet, flaneur, metropolitan prophet and urban shaman, keeper of lost cultures and futurologist, and can count J.G.Ballard (RIP), Michael Moorcock and Will Self as fans. Literary critic James Wood called him the "demented magus of the sentence" and John Walsh suspected him of genius, writing: "He can outgun virtually any writer in England."
Over the last two years Standard Planets have collaborated with the likes of Krautrock legend Harald Grosskopf (Ash Ra Tempel, Cosmic Jokers, Klaus Schulze, Manuel Gottsching), Disco pioneers Arthur's Landing (Arthur Russell, Dinosaur L/Loose Joints), Nurse With Wound's Colin Potter and Italo Disco iconsBWH/Blackaway (House Of Music), with each single gaining praise from the likes of Q Magazine, SPIN, The Quietus, and FACT.
In recent times the band have also shared stages with the likes of To Rococo Rot, Factory Floor, Gold Panda, Damo Suzuki and These New Puritans
