Norwegian producer Marius Mevold, better known as Slick Shoota is known for producing high energy club hybrids. His productions take inspiration from a myriad of sources, among them Chicago's footwork and the UK's jungle and a host of other types of club music. With his productions he has carved out a unique sound that bridges both historical and geographical gaps, a sound that is well defined and exploratory at the same time.
His prolific work has earned him a spot as a official member of the legendary footwork crew Teklife, and the euphoric soundscapes of this Ball Em Up release shows that he's not afraid to explore different directions.
"Qualia" starts off innocently with lush chords before a reese bassline and menacing drums shows signs of what's to come. The breakdown builds into hardstyle inspired sensations, before it fully drops into a raw rugged club weapon. On "Hyperflexx" Slick Shoota is back in familiar footwork territory, flexing razor sharp 808s, scattered drums and a hook with instant appeal.
