REBENOK

REBËNOK (“the kid” in Russian) is a solo project by Vitali Yurtaev, an artist and art curator from Moscow. Vitali is half of the audiovisual duo Broken Composers, known for unique laser performances in art galleries around the globe and Russian biggest electronic festivals: Signal, Fields, and Intervals. REBËNOK bakes dance and electronic music beyond genres, focused on elaborate sound design, and thoughtful arrangement. Emotionally it is based on childish curiosity, and half-forgotten childhood experience: soviet television, weird cartoons, low-budget movies, and acid memes. Using this as source material, the author creates psychedelic shorts for each track and uploads them to Instagram. During live performances, Rebenok synchronizes these video samples with the music, producing a quirky audiovisual journey.
