Video Burnout

Video Burnout is the musical collaboration of long time friends Adam Stegemann and Teddy Stuart (founder of sample label Samples From Mars). Inspired by the disco loft parties of their youth and a love for archaic gear, the two have crafted their own sonic world of cinematic instrumentals, displaced by disco basslines, negative space and chaotic IDM beats. In 2020, after a decade-long hiatus from music, Stegemann, a classically trained pianist turned DJ, acquired a bunch of old samplers and drum machines. With no production experience whatsoever, he loaded up floppy disks and connected all of the gear, chaotically punching in drum patterns, arpeggios and basslines inspired by his favorite disco records, 90s IDM, and a burning desire to impress his friend.
