The Kavanaghs are one of the most important indie rock/ powerpop bands with songs in English fromArgentina.The band released their first song as part of the compilation Big Indie Comeback released by the English label Matchbox Recordings.As a result of this they were contacted by several labels, Parlophone UK (The Beatles label) among them.The Kavanaghs released two albums, The Kavanaghs (2009) and Love Conquers Pain (2011) via Eternal Sunday, the only label specialized in releasing pop music from Argentina sung in English. The Kavanaghs was praised by powerpop legends Jim Bonfanti and Eric Carmen (The Raspberries): “The Beatles, Badfinger and Raspberries fans will love this band [...] great melodies and harmonies are still alive”. Most blogs and powerpop critics, including Shindig and Goldmine magazines, gave positive reviews to both albums.
