Electronic music & art collective Seadrake is a chart-topping creative force on the global synthpop scene. Combining machine- wizard Mathias Thürk (ex-Minerve) and award-winning bassist/keyboardist Rickard Gunnarsson (Lowe, Statemachine), they have a strong reputation for bold and powerful music and successful collaborations with diverse and dynamic vocalists including Dorian E (We Are Loveblind, Dear Strange, Lexy & K-Paul) and Tom Åsberg (Brides of the Black Room, ex-Priest).
Rickard Gunnarsson’s exposure to the Swedish music scene started at a young age, inspired by his world-famous musician
father, Rutger Gunnarsson (ABBA, Elton John, Mamma Mia the Movie, and others), he has played an influential role in some of
Sweden’s most well-known electronic acts. As part of Statemachine and Lowe (both winners of Scandinavian Music Awards), Gunnarsson has toured throughout North America, Russia, and most of Eastern and Western Europe. He has also performed with artists including Moby and West End Girls.
Mathias Thürk broke onto the scene playing keyboards with pop band Minerve. Originally from East Berlin, and now residing in
Zürich, Thürk is well-known on the alternative pop scene having made an impact on the European charts with Minerve as well as
securing a nomination by the German Rock & Pop Awards for Best Elektro Pop Band. He has toured Russia, and all of Eastern
and Western Europe. Seadrake’s quickly established them as a favourite on the synth scene and success with various singles and their album, saw them chart on the iTunes Alternative Charts, Deutsche Alternative Charts (DAC), German Electronic Web Charts (GEWC) and Beatport Charts.
Seadrake are a regular presence on the live stage and the European festival circuit where they have played high-profile sets at the Castle Party Festival (Poland), Wave Gotik Treffen (Germany) and Subkult Festival (Sweden). They supported German synth band Solar Fake as special guests on their sold out tours in 2019 and 2022.
