Mr. Kaito

Mr. Kaito is a musical project by Finnish-American electronic composer Markus Suomela. Drawn to electronic music at an early age, Markus began experimenting with various computers, tape decks, and samplers to recreate the sounds he heard and loved. After hearing Girl From Ipanema in a restaurant, Markus began a life-long quest to collect anything and everything recorded during the golden age of the jazz-meets-Bossa Nova craze in the early 1960s. Mr. Kaito draws inspiration from these sultry sounds , the swinging scene of the 1960s, and his love of electronic music, all melded into one through hip hop beats and a Japanese aesthetic.
