Inspired by exposure to artists like Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Yello and Kraftwerk at a very young age, Elaine became increasingly interested in electronic music and began to experiment with synthesizers and an Amiga. Her journey into the dance music scene began when she produced and hosted a local TV show about dance clubs in Calgary, taking her into the DJ and club world. She was fascinated by the interaction between the DJ and dance floor so she became the light technician at a local nightclub called The Banke, eventually landing the DJ residency in 1989, playing deep jazzy funky House and Techno. Her passion for the underground electronic music scene grew, loving the music, artistic atmosphere, peaceful attitude and open minded dancers, so she decided to start throwing events as one half of Honeey n Nutty Ink. Over the years, Honeey Mustard has regularly appeared at many noted events, clubs and festivals around Canada and abroad, playing deep to hard Techno, Acid Techno, and Drum n Bass sets on vinyl and Ableton Live, with ongoing monthly residencies at Quincy’s and The House in Calgary. In 2004, Elaine decided to take things to the next level and started learning Ableton Live. She began to create music inspired by her experiences in the electronic music scene, eventually performing live sets exploring Ambient and Techno realms, with a desire to move people physically and mentally. In 2009, with a growing obsession for Drum n Bass, spawned from many epic times dancing and playing at clubs and festivals like Soda, Quincys, and Motion Notion, Elaine has been taken to a whole new level of inspiration and Misselaineous is born. Drum n Bass melded with the Techno soul to create a new hybrid entity.
