Mav West

Owner and founder of the label "Center of the Leaf" Mav west (Philip matthew wendt) has had a love affair with electronic music since 1999, and started spinning in 2002, inspired by The crystal method, paul van dyk, dj dan, and sasha & digweed. However, music in general is in his blood. His mother always had a record on the platter growing up. His uncle, dj shorty, owned an underground record shop in the montrose area of Houston, and was long-time resident dj at the continental club for years, a local legend who tragically passed away in 2013. He sold vinyl to many of Houston's big rap names such as The Ghetto Boys and Del the Funky Homosapian. Through his uncle's shop mav west had constant access to rare and
