Heavyweight roots reggae dub band Dubheart hail from the South Coast UK. Originally formed in 1999, the band spent the former years crafting their roots reggae sound, self-producing a list of albums and playing clubs and festivals around the UK. In around 2008 they were joined by French born MC/vocalist Tenja who’s been working as the band’s main singer to this day. .Some of their earlier releases include ‘Solid Foundation Riddim’ (2010) and ‘We Chant’ (2012). These records earned the band the respect of a wider international audience in the live music and sound system scene, with Jah Shaka and Scientist incorporating the tracks regularly into their sets. From there Dubheart carried on performing, recording and practising hard to refine the show, and in 2013 entered the Rototom European Reggae Contest. After being selected from 1000's of bands, Dubheart went on to play the UK final in London, and then on to win the European final in Zurich, and were awarded the title of European Reggae Contest winners followed by an extensive tour around the biggest European reggae festivals with their album ‘Mental Slavery’. In 2015 the band went on to work with Mad Professor at Ariwa Sound studios on a collaborative album, to be released still in the near future. In 2016 they featured on the BBC TV show UK Best Part Time Band, following their appearance they felt inspired to record an EP of their favourite cover songs they’d performed on the show, entitled ‘Full Time Pressure’.The last couple of years have been spent working hard, and recording their new album 'Cool Under Pressure' which is out now. After proving themselves to be more than worthy of playing on some of the biggest stages in the European reggae scene, Dubheart are about as ripe and ready as they have ever been to hit the rest of the world with their vibrant, live and organic dub show. This is true roots rockers music, harking straight back to the heart of 1970's Kingston Jamaica... with a fresh UK edge.
