Carl III

Carl III is a Bronx based artist and music producer born and raised in Springfield, MA. He learned music theory from his father, a drum major in high school and musician in drum corp. Carl was influenced by listening to his parents’ jazz and R&B albums, singing and mimicking the voices of the singers and the sounds of the instruments. His mother purchased his first two keyboards and his grandmother provided him with his first full sized synthesizer and encouraged him to sing in choirs. Elementary school classmates shared piano tips along the way. One major influence is David M. Jackson, the minister of music at his church who provided piano lessons and set an example of what it means to be a composer and arranger. Carl III also got to observe
