Astara's sound emerges at the intersection of vocal-driven deep house and melodic techno. Dividing his time between Nashville and NYC, his songs mirror that same contrast. They trade impressions, from light and playful to dark and inquiring. In his words, "I integrate the club-facing grooves which I came to know and love in New York with lyrical storytelling. The lyrical influences come from Americana and roots genre, but the songs stay firmly in the house realm which is where I find myself most at home." In 2023, he expands his catalogue with new releases on the Sierra North imprint, and beyond.
