The two members of Appa Glas, Jo Beschil and Clara Schink, grew up in different parts of Germany. In 2010 their paths eventually crossed in Leipzig.During her childhood, Clara Schink took up playing the classical piano. Her interest in music developed from there and she began to produce indie music and popular music. Ultimately, she became intrigued by electronic music and started DJing.Jo Beschil's passion for music was initially sparked when he began as a drummer for various alternative bands. A few years from there he started to translate his instrumental skills into the production of electronic music. Feeling the need to delve into electronic music even more, he decided to turn his back on his drum kit. What had started off as a friendship based on a shared interest in electronic music gave rise to a fruitful collaboration in the studio. The members of Appa Glas wanted to create a distinctive and personal sound that allows the listener to identify with the music and provide a basis for subtle emotions. The songs' lyrics and titles are often abstract and admit various interpretations. The aim is to create images, provoke thoughts, challenge concepts and question a simple four-to-the-floor beat. That is how the artist duo promotes a symbiosis between their passion for music and their roles as producers.
