When Alex Ridley was a youth in school he never thought much of making sounds or music. However when CD-ROM games would come with music and sound effects folders, chopping up the clips and creating obscure soundscapes and strange new noises would consume hours of his life. This odd hobby was further nourished when a friend introduced him to a video game based music generator, which was where Alex's already piqued interest became an obsession.
Alex made several songs using the generators pre-made loops and sounds but decided he wanted to go one step further. He’d begun altering the sounds himself to created an original track. With the help of online friends, Alex was well on his way to producing his own brand of techno.
The following years Alex could be found playing gigs, tinkering with sounds while always adding to his vinyl collection. After continued research and much work, collaboration with a like-minded friend under the name "Komus & Ridley” would start off his first contribution to the Canadian techno sound. The desire to take things to the next level has seen this strange hobby take on a life of its own.
