Boogie Basics jumps forward with a slamming new release from Belgian duo Furniture Crew. The crew is made up of Guy Vercruysse (DJ Cute) and Denneb Vervaeke who met and joined forces in 2005, subsequently releasing tunes for labels like Next Dimension Music, Kinjo, and Footwear. Furniture Crew is heavily influenced by jackin', soulful, and funky deep house music, a preference that is evident in this latest release, the White Clusters EP. The EP is led with 'Golden Funk, an appealing amalgaration of elements including tough, skippy beats, an acidic bass line, soulful vocal drops, techno stabs, and even a funky flute line. 'Cirkus Arts' is next, flaunting a punchy low end mixed with solid dance floor beats and rhythmic female vocal phrases. Though firmly four-on-thr-floor, this track is funky enough to fit in breakbeat sets. Finally there's 'Feel Like Disco' showcasing the Furniture Crew's love of disco mixed with some classic acid house sounds and an assortment of retro vocal samples. Three definite nightclub stompers here . this EP from Boogie Basics and Furniture Crew is a definite prime time contender.
