Currently in rotation on Dubstep FM, this latest release is shifting gears from the usual Techno arena Subtrak inhabits, to bring some solid dubstep to the growing catalogue. Tapir's 'Truck' opens with haunting pads, syncopated shakers, and a series of distant echos before a hulking bassline stomps along side a sophisticated percussion arrangement. It is true to the core of the dubstep sound. The remix by up and coming artist, DLX, traces Tapir's signal, hacks into Truck's original structure and bleeds the lines of his blueprint with squelching acid leads, carefully placed pads and metallic hi hats. This fierce and techy roller is punctuated by Brixton-style kicks, and suprises after the second drop. It's sure to satisfy.
