Get Up Recordings is pleased to welcome House Music legends, Heller & Farley to the label family with the melodically lush "Spring Affair". Heller & Farley, who need little introduction, first surfaced in the early 90's as part of Andrew Weatherall's Boys Own collective, making their debut with a hugely popular remix of the Farm's "Groovy Train" and earned wide renown when their mix of M People's "Open Your Heart" topped Billboard's club charts in 1995. Since then, they have remixed countless artists including New Order, both Michael and Janet Jackson, Kylie Mynogue, U2, Pet Shop Boys, as well as underground mixes for Junior Vasquez, Danny Tenaglia, Robert Owens, Frankie Knuckles, The Basement Boys and many, many more. Heller & Farley have also recorded under Roach Motel, an outlet for their more underground projects, and along with producer Gary Wilkinson, in the lush garage techno trio, Fire Island, as well as teaming with Weatherall and Hugo Nicholson in Bocca Juniors. On "Spring Affair", Heller & Farley go for for a retro-house groove combined with melodic keys, warm sweeping sounds, all accented by vocal stabs reminiscent of early-90's House divas. Heller & Farley leave their identifiable stamp through the cuts rousing build, transporting the listener to the dark and packed dancefloors of underground NYC clubs of the 90's. The Dub Mix is a bit more stripped down than the original, but adds a driving beat to those swelling sounds, chord hits and rhythmic vocal stabs. The remixes compliment Heller & Farley's vibe with each producers distinct sound. The first remix comes via the London duo, Brodanse. The brothers work it out with minimal keyboard hits and vocals reminiscent of 8-Ball Records. Next up is a version from NYC's The Connection paying homage to the earlier house sounds of Strictly Rhythm with a bouncing lead keyboard pattern that is sure to keep the dance floor moving. The third remix come from San Francisco's House Music Maestro, David Harness. Keeping true to the original while adding his signature drums, percussion and bassline, Harness sends the track to a higher level of rhythm. The final remix comes from an extremely talented Bay Area newbie, Charles McCloud (a.k.a 5kinandbone5), remixing under the guise of MATRiXXMAN. A departure from his usual style of Hip-Hop and Trap, the remix is a Nu-Disco inspired gem bursting with a beautiful cascade of sounds. Amazing work closing up an incredible package all coming straight from Get Up Recordings. Album-only tracks include a Beats Dub and Instrumental from Heller & Farley and an Instrumental Mix from David Harness.
