A very special release from Get Up Recordings sees label founders House of Stank re-issue their Dust Traxx classic, Make U Jack, featuring the vocals of Blakfred. The single comes with new remixes from Inland Knights, Manny Ward and House of Stank themselves who bring it up to date for 2012. The remixes from the original 2008 release by Ron Carroll, Santiago & Bushido and The Connection are also remastered and included. The music style crosses the ever-changing boundaries of house musics sub-genres. House of Stanks bleepy original version gets taken into chugging, bumping and bass-heavy territory by Inland Knights in their inimitable style, while Manny Ward applies a more stripped back and deep, percussive workout. House of Stanks new version ups the energy with a jumping Chi-town influenced cut. On the remastered 2008 remixes, Ron Carroll takes it in a big room direction with powerful beats and sounds following the classic Chicago/Detroit house blueprint, Santiago & Bushido twist things back to front and inside out over a monster bass line, and The Connection turn to classic analogue sounds.NYC-based DJs, Christy Love and W. Jeremy, collectively known as House of Stank, began in March 2006 with a weekly Wednesday party called STANK, which played host to many of house musics most influential figures, including Cajmere (a.k.a. Green Velvet), Glenn Underground, Ron Carroll, Mark Grant and the legendary Wild Pitch Acid maestro and monthly co-resident, DJ Pierre. In 2007, they began producing original music and their debut and sophomore tracks, Baby Brain and 4 Tha Freaks, were released on DJ Pierres label, Afro Acid Digital. In the following years, they released, Make U Jack and Get Up, Yeah! on Dust Traxx Chicago as well as setting up Get Up Recordings in 2010. House of Stank has remixed such artists as Larry Tee, Easy Street, Thee-O & Merlyn Martin and The 2 Bears. Of the new 2012 remixers, Inland Knights need little introduction. A driving and pioneering force in the UK underground house scene, Laurence Ritchie and Andy Riley have been at the forefront for as long as most can remember through their productions, DJ performances and their label Drop Music. New Yorker Manny Ward was given his break by David Morales back in 1998 and hasnt looked back, becoming a prominent DJ figure around the Big Apple and releasing records for Eight Ball, Twisted and Craig Mitchells legendary Slanted Black. His apprenticeship at the illustrious Quad Studios saw him rubbing shoulders with legends such as Mariah Carey, CeCe Peniston, and Joi Cardwell.
