It has been a very productive and successful year for the man we call Funkagenda. The recently crowned ‘Dj Mag Best Breakthrough’ award winner has topped the biggest industry dance sales charts on several occasions, compiled an awesome Toolroom Knights compilation, travelled to countries far and wide and played many of the most respected Festivals that this scene has to offer. He undoubtedly has been one of the few DJ & producers to have made a massive impact on the dance scene in 2009! Finishing off the year in fine style he drops a double ‘A’ side of (two) full on audio assaults on Toolroom Trax in the form of ‘H3lix’ & ‘Nobody Listens To Techno Feat MC Flipside’. H3lix is a genre defying beast kicking off with a driving percussive intro, then out of nowhere drops a pulsating and buzzing bass line opening the track up into a peaktime monster, building layers and gaining momentum to the main drop where hoards of FX weave in and out of the mix. This is exceedingly uplifting and not for the faint hearted! ‘Nobody Listens To Techno’ features the impeccable vocal chords of MC Flipside, the talented MC featured on Bart B More’s recent Toolroom Smash ‘So It Goes (A Day In The Life)’. The track is a broody techno affair with slick rolling drums, edgy synth stabs and sweeping FX a plenty. As MC Flipside says ‘This is Musical Technology for your ear’! And is destined to cause maximum damage where ever it get’s played.
