With Hot Chip and especially Joe Goddard being well known purveyors of cutting edge dance music it was a chance meeting last year that forged a friendship with Jesse and Joe. With a mutual respect for each others work, ‘Forget My Name’ is a track that Joe wrote after coming back from playing Rock AM Ring in Germany, hearing nothing but indie music, he called Jesse and they made the whole track together. “It’s always interesting to collaborate on a piece of music and Joe and the Hot Chip guys are people I have a lot of respect for, it all worked out really well” explains Jesse. Indeed it did work out well, with the unmistakable raspy boomptified bass groove that is synonymous with Jesse, combined with the cut up vocal and harmonic messages that Hot Chip are so well known for, it feels like the perfect match.
